  • EPB&B was again named among the top philanthropic companies in Oregon by the Portland Business Journal. We attended a very informative luncheon last week to pick up the award. We were #4 on the small business list. It was amazing and beyond humbling to see how many other like-minded companies are in our area. What is incredible is that even with all of the good stuff going on in our area, there is still a need for so much more. Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve this milestone.

  • Last night we were honored with an award for Top Workplace in Oregon and SW Washington from The Oregonian/Oregon Live and Energage. This award is based solely on employee survey feedback. There were 99 winners and we came in at #27 on this list of small employers. "I couldn't be more excited about this award because it comes from our staff," says President/Owner Marc Baker. "Happy workers make a great workplace," concludes CFO, Christine Harte.

  • Many of our carriers have announced premium savings on auto insurance. By practicing social distancing and driving less, customers may see credits in the neighborhood of 15% off auto premiums for the months of March and April. If you have questions or want to learn more about the premium savings, give us a call. We are socially distant, but local and open for business!!

  • Did you know Multnomah county only has about 400-500 year-round shelter beds for moms, dads and kids who experience homelessness but there are over 1000 families waiting for help right now.

As you may know, we are working to help Portland Homeless Family Solutions (PHFS) reach their goal of $3,500,000 by the end of April 2018 to purchase a new building with more space to house and help those suffering from homelessness.

    Check this out:

  • PHFS is drastically expanding... and they need your help! They are in the process of purchasing a building that would quadruple the shelter capacity, expand homeless prevention programs, and include affordable housing units. But they can't do this without you!

EPB&B is working with PHFS to try and make this dream a reality. Our goal is to donate $2,500 to the project by April 30th.

You can help - stop by our office and donate your loose change, empty cans/bottles or buy a ...raffle ticket to win an Amazon Show valued at $229. You can also browse our mini-garage sale with lots of fun items.

  • Bitter temperatures can freeze pipes, creating catastrophic property losses and havoc in your life. Every year we have our fair share of cold weather and businesses can be caught unprepared, often resulting in the most costly losses. With proper winter weather preparation, you can minimize the impact of severe weather on your business.

    Before winter weather occurs:

    ·       Add emergency contacts to your emergency plan. Post the list at all telephones, and make copies for all employees to keep with them.

    ·       Plan for maintenance personnel to properly monitor buildings during cold snaps, upping site visits and checking unoccupied areas of buildings.

    ·       Properly mark the location of hydrants and sprinkler system post indicator valves for easy cleaning after heavy snow.

  • Today EPB&B joined worksites across Oregon to honor workplace safety by participating in Safety Break for Oregon 2018.  We invited the Firefighters from Portland Fire Station #15 to come and join us for some fire education and a cup of coffee from Kelly's Coffee Cruiser.

Oregon OSHA coordinates this one-day event, designed to raise awareness and promote the value of workplace safety and health.
